Flue Gas and High Performance Butterfly Valves

For Flue Gas control by means of throttling or shut off, the Curtiss Wright Cold and Hot Shell designs are manufactured to endure extreme operating environments. The depth of experience allows Curtiss Wright to meet or exceed the high demands required to control the trip-out service of the power expander. The performance of the Power Recover Train in emergency situations requires the valve to close at stroke speeds of 0.6 second. Utilizing the Curtiss Wright TA-2000 Actuator System in conjunction with the Curtiss Wright Power Recovery Butterfly Valves, assures flawless operation during emergency shutdown conditions.

Reactor Overhead Vapor Line Isolation Valve

The RV950 Isolation Valve — it’s a simple idea but one that is revolutionizing cracker unit maintenance, productivity and safety. The design is based on proven sealing technology. It is a through-conduit valve with self-cleaning dual metal seats. And, the RV950 is live loaded with a steam-purged body and bonnets. It is simple, practical and most importantly…reliable.

    ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC ACTUATORS & CONTROL SYSTEMS

Curtiss Wright is offering an actuator with one hydraulic power unit and one control unit, mounted on the skid for the Single Disc slide valve.
An electro-hydraulic actuator and control system is the most ideal system for today’s modern refineries. It provides the accuracy and response necessary to improve refinery operations. Curtiss Wright's electro-hydraulic system provides features that can further enhance operations and maintenance. A diagnostics panel is built into each unit for each setup and calibration.

    • Higher feed conversion rate because of lower reactor temperature variance.
    • A more accurately positioned slide valve, enabling more precise temperature and pressure control
    • Instant control directly proportional to the percentage of change with a 4-20 mA signal. This is a vast improvement over 3-15 psig pneumatic signal controllers, which contain dead bands.

    DeltaValve Unheading Device

The DeltaValve provides the first fully automated, inherently safe system for releasing residual coke from large pressurized drums during crude oil processing.  By creating a completely sealed connection from the bottom of the coke drum down through the discharge chute, the DeltaValve completely isolates personnel and equipment from exposure to heat, water and steam.

    • Increased cycle times and throughput
    • Minimized operation and maintenance costs – currently five-year operating performance with no downtime
    • Enabling refiners to process extra heavy, sour grades of crude oil, which are less expensive – vast reserves in regions such as the Orinoco Belt in Venezuela and the Canadian oil sands are just beginning to be tapped

    DVC

Curtiss-Wright’s recent introduction of a Digital Valve Controller (DVC) for the processing market integrates proprietary control electronics originally developed for military applications with a need to monitor critical operations in the processing industry.  While existing technologies manage a single process or variable, Curtiss-Wright’s new DVC updates the technology from analog to digital and is programmable for up to 20 variable functions.  In addition, this product employs remote and internet monitoring of critical valves during the refining process so operations can be managed worldwide from one system.

    Significant technology advances:
    • Revolutionary remote and internet controllable operation of critical valves during the refining process
    • Explosion proof hardware operates in severe environments
    • Redundant technology avoids catastrophic failure
    • Predictive maintenance alerts and event collection of all processes
    • Built-in Diagnostics
    • Health Monitoring
    • Preventative Maintenance
